About Rudy Hernández

Rudy became interested in counseling and mental health as a career in his early thirties after working as a teacher. He recognized the impact a healthy emotional environment can make on a child’s life, shaping them into a functional adult. Since the family is the center of a child’s life, he decided to focus on strengthening them by counseling parents, couples, and children. He received his Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in 2019 and a Bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University - Idaho in 2015.

One of Rudy’s core beliefs is that everyone is an expert in their own life. As a result, he chooses therapy modalities that focus on discovering and developing existing strengths and using them to overcome problems. He believes mental health work should be creative, cooperative, and vulnerable.

Rudy was born in Tenerife, Spain and immigrated to the United States as a young man. He and his wife have been married for 15 years and have 3 children.
